March 2023 - April 2024

Mama & Bump is proud to be a participant in the current research study 'Pregnancy after Stillbirth', offering treatments to study participants in this Australia-wide research.

Specialised antenatal care for women experiencing pregnancy after a stillbirth (pregnancy loss after 20 weeks) is recommended, however, there is a lack of direct evidence on what specific interventions or approaches to care might benefit women. Massage may assist women who are pregnant after a stillbirth via decreasing anxiety, worry and stress.

The team of Dr Sarah Fogarty & Professor Alexander Heazel, from the University of Manchester and Assoc. Professor Munk from Indiana University aim to measure the feasibility of massage as an adjunct approach to care for pregnant women who have experienced a stillbirth.

Mama & Bump was a proud volunteer at the Red Nose/Sands event - Walk to Remember, held at the grounds of Beaumont House, offering complimentary massages to attendees who gathered at the event.

The Walk to Remember is a picnic-style ceremony for SA families with activities for siblings and a memorial walk 'taking the steps our babies never could'. Held annually in October during Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Month, it brings together families, friends and the general community to publicly remember and honour the babies and children who are no longer with us.

The event raises awareness of pregnancy and infant loss, encourages compassionate support of affected families, and creates a beautiful sense of validation for families who have experienced the death of a baby.

Live on Levi have created care packages for families in the Women’s and Children’s Hospital palliative care service.

The Live on Levi Fund was created by Levi’s parents Tosha and Daniel to honour their son Levi who passed away aged 29 days. Their fundraising proudly raises awareness and funds for premature and sick newborns and their families in NICU and palliate care service.

In 2020 Mama & Bump donated 20 massages (in form of a voucher) to these care packages to offer an opportunity to rest and restore during the grieving process.
