Before your Appointment
It is recommended that you do not eat a full meal shortly before you arrive for your massage, allowing some time to digest will make you feel more comfortable when laying down. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear that is easy to change in and out of. You will undress to your comfort level and will remain securely covered by draping at all times. It is best to remove all jewellery before hopping onto the massage table.
New Clients
If this is your first visit to Mama & Bump you will be given a Client Intake form to fill out upon arrival. Taking the time to understand your current health status is of utmost importance to ensure you are looked after in the best way. There’s no need to arrive early for your appointment to fill this paperwork out, the consultation time is used to gather this information, determine your needs, and discuss treatment options for you.
Consultation Time
All appointments allow for a consultation time. This is to discuss the treatment plan and discuss any changes that are worth noting since your last appointment, as well as giving you an opportunity to chat and briefly unwind before getting onto the massage table. This helps you to get the most out of the time that you are on the massage table.
Appointment Duration
Please always allow your appointment to be at least an extra 15 minutes in addition to the treatment you have booked. At Mama & Bump, you are given time to sit and chat in your consult without rushing and watching the clock. You do not need to arrive early for your consultation time.
Appointment Confirmation
Leading up to your booked appointment, you will receive a text message reminder. It is asked that you give as much notice as possible for any appointment that you need to change or cancel to avoid a cancellation fee. Please view the cancellation policy if you are unsure.
Positioning on the Massage Table
The way you will be positioned on the massage table for your treatment will be decided based on the service you have booked as well as your individual needs.
This will be discussed with you on the day, and all options that are available to you will be offered. Your comfort and safety are incredibly important to the success of the treatment you receive.
For pregnant clients - The massage table does not have a hole in it. A supportive pillow system that allows pregnant clients to lay face down up to approximately 22 weeks gestation (this will vary for pregnancies of multiples) is available. Beyond 22 weeks you are positioned comfortably and supportively on your side. Sidelying positioning allows the best access to all those muscles that cause a lot of grief in pregnancy, and it is non-compromising to the low back as your bump grows.
For postnatal clients - Positioning options cater for both breastfeeding and non-breastfeeding clients.
Payment Options
Mama & Bump accepts cash, card and gift voucher redemption. Eftpos and Hicaps facilities are available.
